February 24-25, 2012
Joy Ranch, Watertown

You and your congregation are invited to prayerfully consider being part of our first group of congregations to undertake “Renew Your Congregation for God’s Mission” training in South Dakota.  This intensive process looks for these results:

  1. A deepened faith-life for each congregation member.  People make the move from membership in an organization – to discipleship to Jesus Christ.
  2. A clear sense of purpose for the congregation.  The congregation agrees on why God has placed them where they are and what God is calling them to do.
  3. A strengthened leadership.  The congregation’s leaders and pastor work together collaboratively with a common goal and with the mind of Christ as their guide.
  4. A vibrant community.  A congregation with a deepened spiritual life and a clear purpose vibrates with joy and excitement as they participate in God’s mission.
  5. Impact.  A renewing congregation impacts its community with the good news of Jesus Christ lived out in word and deed.

In the past year or so have you…

  • Had a change of pastors?
  • Come through a period of conflict, change or transition?
  • Experienced changes in your surrounding community?
  • Struggled to get agreement on how to move forward as a congregation?
  • Sensed a longing for God to do something new in your midst?

If you answered “yes” to one or more of the above, your congregation may be ripe for this intensive renewal process.

WARNING!  This is not a program or a project.  It is not a quick fix.  It seeks God’s purpose and guidance the old fashioned way, through scripture study and prayer.  Of all the ways a congregation can find to move forward, this holds the most promise.
