The South Dakota Synod is one of 65 synods in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  There are 219 congregations in the South Dakota Synod comprising of approximately 120,000 Lutherans.

The South Dakota Synod currently has seven new mission starts under development.  Mission Partners provide ways for you and your congregation to be “hands on” with the mission and accompany new and renewing congregations of the ELCA as they carry out God’s mission in their communities.

Looking to get more involved in the life of your church?  The Women of the ELCA (WELCA) is the women’s organization of this church and has thousands of participants in thousands of congregations.  Lutheran Men in Mission (LMM) builds men’s faith, relationships, and ministry through men’s events, resources, and leaders.
