On January 8 the Rev. Dr. Karen Soli will begin serving a two-year term in the South Dakota House of Representatives. She was recently elected to this position from District 15 in central Sioux Falls. She will travel to Pierre to take part in this year’s nine-week legislative session in January, February, and early March. Pr. Soli retired from her synod council call as Coordinator of the Food to You Mobile Food Pantry on December 31. She will maintain a limited role with this service organization as Director of the Charis Ministry Partners non-profit made up of thirteen ELCA congregations from the Sioux Falls area. Pr. Soli also works churchwide as an ELCA Stewardship Key Leader and is an adjunct professor at Sioux Falls Seminary.
Katie Willers, former Chair of the Charis Ministry Partner Board, has begun work as the new Food to You Mobile Food Pantry Coordinator.
